new back tips – standing stretch for hamstrings and lower back – recover from sitting or standing too long

We all know that stretching is an important part of any workout routine, as it helps improve flexibility and reduce the risk of injury. The standing stretch for the hamstrings and lower back is a great way to target both of these areas. New Back Chiropractor in Santa Ana, is providing you with this two-minute video. You can also read how this stretch can be done in just four easy steps.

Start With A Solid Stance

From the standing position, squeeze your abs to stabilize and protect your lower back. Lock your knees and flex your quadriceps, that is, the front thigh muscles.

Grab your elbows and while concentrating on squeezing your abs as tight as you can, bend forward slowly at the waist, dropping your arms and your head straight down under the force of gravity.

Focus On The Stretch

You will begin to feel a stretching sensation in the hamstrings, and a traction sensation in the lower back. Focus on squeezing your abs while you ease into a reasonably uncomfortable stretch of your hamstrings.

If you want a bigger stretch of your hamstrings, move your body a little to the left, and feel that left hamstring stretch more… You can do the same to the right for the right hamstring.

Deeper Strech

You can hang out in this re-energizing position, adding length and elasticity to your hamstrings, and decompressive traction to your lower back for 30 to 60 seconds.

Test With Good Posture

When you are ready, bend your knees, place your hands on your knees, and with your core engaged, that is squeezing your abs, walk safely up your thighs with your hands until you are upright again. Finish with a good posture reset.

By following these simple steps, you can easily perform a standing stretch for both your hamstrings and lower back. Additionally, it is important to hold the stretch for at least 30-60 seconds to gain the most benefit. Stretching your hamstrings and lower back regularly can help improve flexibility and reduce the risk of injury. Need additional support? Call our team today!
