A powerful stretch that can bring you relief from pain in your groin, back, hips, and knees.
There is a muscle group on the inside of your thighs that only gets obvious when you have a groin muscle strain… But secretly, they can be the cause of pain in your back, your hips, and your knees. We are talking about the inner thigh muscles known as the adductors.
The adductors can even impact the function of your core, whether it engages properly or not… So let’s get these powerful adductor muscles stretched.
From the down on all fours position… Bring your body weight forward onto your elbows as you slowly slide your knees apart.
Walk your body further forward as you slowly and comfortably separate your knees, pointing your toes outward.
When you feel a little resistance to further separation of your knees, stop! Now, ever so slowly… gently push from your elbows to slide your hips backward, as you carefully add to the stretch of the muscles between your thighs.
If you are doing this properly, you will feel how very little movement adds tremendously to the stretch of your adductor muscles. Use wisdom and restraint, as to how far back you push… No further than to a stretch causing reasonable discomfort.
Now hold that stretch for 20–30 seconds… until you feel a little decrease in the discomfort.
When complete, you will just as slowly and carefully slide your body forward, out of this stretch before you return to the all fours position.
That’s it! You now have a stretch that will improve the length and elasticity of your adductor muscles.
